Beyond Repair

The Jean Street School- Community building is no more.  As we reported earlier, the roof had caved in with the weight of the winters snow.  On Tuesday, April 27th, the building
was burned to the ground.
Big Creek High School Alumni Prom

The Big Creek Alumni Prom this held Saturday, May 8th was a HUGE success! Over 150 Owls/friends attended, ranging from the 1940's to the present time. The decorations were beautiful, great food, good music and a wonderful time to visit with friends. Special THANKS to Tammy Sparks (teacher and prom sponsor), Carol Ann Carr Nestor (teacher), Jamie Seabolt (secretary), other BC staff, students and parents.
A Big Thank You....
to all those who serve the Coalwood Volunteer Fire Department. Your dedica-tion to the community is appreciated.
The Mountains are Alive
Summer has arrived! The weather is hot. The mountains are in bloom. Coalwood was spared from the rising waters that flooded Welch on June 12th.
Community Clean Up

Driving into Coalwood was awe-inspiring. The roadways were virtually void of any trash. The CCRA maintains several miles of the roadways into and around Coalwood. Their hard work was noticeable!  Thank you CCRA and memb-ers for your diligent work in keeping Coalwood clean!
Coalwood Community Pool

The Coalwood Community Pool was scrapped, painted, filled and is ready for use! Enjoy the summer sun and take a trip down to the  pool.
New Menu Item!
The Sterling Drive-In has a new item on the menu- funnel fries. They are well worth the calories!
